November 11

There was tension in Kano after Jumma’a service on Friday when worshippers were noticed in different groups in Goron Dutse discussing and planning to resist the rumored plan by the government to re-arrestthe five persons discharged and acquitted by the Kano State Judiciary for the killing of a woman in Kofar Wambai Market for blasphemy.

Three suspected female suicide bombers strapped with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) attempting to gain entry into Umarari village along Maiduguri/Damboa road near Mulai were shot dead by officers of the Nigerian army.

Annual Muzahara procession by the Shia members from Kano to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussain the grandson of Prophet Muhammad turned violent when members of the group clashed with Police in Dawaki Local Government Area of Kano State. In the course of the fracas, a soldier lost his life while a Deputy Superintendent of Police sustained injuries. At the time of this report, our CPO who visited 5 different hospitals confirmed 41 dead and 130 injured though there are several reports from media organizations and other stakeholders with differing figures. November 12

A community member was killed by suspected cattle rustlers in Kasuwan Crossing  community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

November 15

In a raid that lasted 7 hours, suspected armed Fulani herdsmen killed 42 persons and burnt down 49 houses in Unguwan Rimi, Kitakum, Ungwan Magaji and Kigam located in Kizakoro district of Chawai Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.  CPAN is following up and will give an update on the situation.
